Greetings!  Welcome to the official website of the Alabama Democratic Conference.

The Alabama Democratic Conference is a black political caucus, co-founded by Orzell Billingsley and others, in cooperation with the national Democratic party.  Formed in 1960 as the Black Political Caucus of Alabama, it is the first statewide organization in Alabama for blacks, created to bring newly registered black voters into the Democratic ranks.

For more than sixty-one years, we have worked to educate the community on the importance of elections and voting rights.  Through vetting and endorsement of candidates, we strengthen our political power and target issues that impact the black community such as education, employment, economic and political empowerment.  Our work is needed more than ever to ensure that Black voices continue to be heard.

Our intent is to provide you with timely information on issues that will impact the communities in which you live, work, and play.

If you are not yet a member, we invite you to get involved by becoming a member of the Alabama Democratic Conference and join your local county affiliate.  Visit our membership page to learn how to join.  We are building a stronger vote for 2022, and you and your votes will make a difference!
